Parco Naturale Regionale del Monte Cucco

Mount Cucco is one of the largest and deepest karst formations in Italy and is located at the northern edge of Umbria. A natural paradise in central Italy, this popular spot offers the chance to go caving, hang-gliding, paragliding, and much more. A unique park, it features underground waters and mineral springs, unspoilt streams, large intact beech groves and karst grottoes, and is home to such animal species as wolves, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, fallow deer, and wildcats. The park resembles a kind of natural gym that allows everyone to choose the activity that best matches their abilities and preferences. You'll have the chance to descend to the depths of the earth through an underground exploration of the Mount Cucco Grottoes accompanied by a professional guide, glide through the air on a hang glider or paraglide, go canyoning, venturing into the Rio Freddo canyon, go trekking along transhumance roads, enjoy some cycling, or ride on horseback, in an environment that offers great natural attractions and cultural sights. Mount Cucco is also a spiritual place, as attested by its hermits and abbeys. For more information and booking: www.discovermontecucco.it
